Terms and Conditions
Governing language
The French version of this document is the governing version. Translations are provided for convenience only. In case of inconsistency between versions, the French version prevails, unless mandatory consumer protection, data protection, or other applicable law provides otherwise.
1. Introduction
These Terms and Conditions govern access to and use of Monadeo, a personal finance application designed to help users record, organize, visualize, and better understand their personal financial information.
Monadeo is intended for personal use only. It is not a bank, payment institution, investment advisor, accountant, tax advisor, credit provider, insurance provider, or licensed financial advisor. The App does not hold funds, execute payments, move money, or make financial decisions for users.
By downloading, accessing, creating an account for, subscribing to, or using Monadeo, the user agrees to these Terms as well as to the privacy policy. If the user does not agree, they must not use the App.

3. Eligibility and Account Use
The user must have the legal capacity to accept these Terms. Users below the age of legal majority may use the App only with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian where required by law.
Some features may require an account, authentication, a subscription, an internet connection, a compatible device, a supported operating system, or access to third-party platform services such as Apple App Store, iCloud, or subscription systems.
The user is responsible for keeping account credentials, device access, Apple ID, passcode, biometric settings, and iCloud account secure. Any activity carried out through the user’s account or unlocked device may be treated as activity by the user.
Monadeo may refuse, suspend, restrict, or terminate access where necessary to protect the App, comply with the law, prevent misuse, handle security risks, or enforce these Terms.
4. Description of the App
Monadeo provides tools to help users manage personal finance information. Depending on the version, configuration, region, and subscription status, features may include:
- income and expense tracking;
- account and balance tracking;
- budgets;
- goals;
- debts and repayment planning;
- recurring transactions;
- categories and subcategories;
- reminders;
- charts, summaries, indicators, and forecasts;
- data import or export features;
- subscriptions and premium features;
- support and legal document access.
The exact features available may evolve over time. Monadeo may add, modify, limit, suspend, or remove features, provided that mandatory consumer rights remain respected.
5. Local-First Data Model
Monadeo is designed as a local-first personal finance app. The user’s financial records are intended to remain on the user’s device and, where the user enables Apple sync features, in the user’s own Apple iCloud environment.
Monadeo does not operate a central server database containing users’ personal financial records. Monadeo does not collect, host, view, sell, or monetize the user’s personal financial dataset.
The user is responsible for the accuracy, completeness, backup, export, correction, and deletion of the financial information they enter into the App, subject to the features and controls made available.
Deleting the App, deleting local data, changing iCloud settings, disabling sync, resetting a device, or losing access to an Apple account may affect access to data. Monadeo does not guarantee recovery of deleted, corrupted, unsynced, or locally lost data.
6. Subscriptions, Purchases, and Billing
Monadeo may offer free features, premium features, subscriptions, free trials, or promotional offers.
Purchases and subscriptions made through the App Store are handled by Apple. Apple manages billing, payment methods, renewals, cancellations, refunds, receipts, taxes where applicable, and App Store subscription settings under Apple’s own terms.
Monadeo may use RevenueCat to verify purchase status, manage entitlements, restore purchases, and activate premium access. Monadeo does not directly process or store full payment card numbers or card security codes.
Prices, subscription periods, included features, and free trial conditions are shown before purchase where required. The user is responsible for reviewing the purchase terms before subscribing.
Subscriptions may renew automatically unless cancelled through the relevant App Store before the renewal date. Deleting the App does not necessarily cancel a subscription.
Refund requests are handled by Apple.
7. Free Trials and Promotions
Monadeo may offer free trials, introductory offers, discounts, promotional access, or beta access.
The duration, eligibility, renewal conditions, and price after the trial or promotion will be shown where required before activation.
Unless cancelled before the end of a free trial or promotional period, a subscription may convert into a paid subscription according to the App Store rules displayed at the time of purchase.
Monadeo may change or withdraw promotions, subject to applicable law and terms already accepted by existing users.
8. No Professional Advice
Monadeo provides informational and organizational tools only.
The App may display summaries, forecasts, categorizations, indicators, warnings, budget progress, goal progress, debt progress, charts, or recommendations based on data available in the App. These outputs may be incomplete, outdated, inaccurate, or unsuitable for the user’s full financial situation.
Monadeo does not provide financial, legal, tax, investment, accounting, credit, lending, insurance, employment, or professional advice. The App does not decide whether the user should spend, save, borrow, invest, repay, subscribe, cancel, or take any other financial action.
The user remains responsible for reviewing the data, correcting errors, and making their own decisions. Users should consult qualified professionals before making important financial, legal, tax, investment, accounting, or professional decisions.
9. User Obligations
The user agrees to use Monadeo lawfully, responsibly, and in accordance with these Terms.
The user must not:
- use the App for unlawful, fraudulent, abusive, harmful, or misleading purposes;
- attempt to bypass security, access controls, subscriptions, or technical restrictions;
- interfere with the App, servers, infrastructure, or other users;
- reverse engineer, copy, scrape, or exploit the App except where allowed by law;
- use the App to store or transmit malware, abusive content, or unlawful content;
- impersonate another person or provide misleading account information;
- misuse support, feedback, or communication channels;
- send passwords, payment credentials, authentication codes, or unnecessary sensitive information through support or feedback channels;
- use the App for business, professional, regulated, fiduciary, accounting, or financial-advisory purposes.
The user is responsible for the data they enter, import, edit, delete, or export from the App.
10. User Content and Feedback
The user retains ownership of the content and financial records they create or enter in the App.
Where the user sends Monadeo feedback, suggestions, bug reports, screenshots, support messages, or feature requests, the user grants Monadeo the right to use that feedback to understand issues, provide support, improve the App and develop its features, without obligation to compensate the user.
The user should not submit confidential, sensitive, third-party, or unnecessary financial information in feedback or support messages unless strictly necessary for the request.
11. Intellectual Property
Monadeo, including its name, design, interface, software, text, graphics, logos, icons, features, documentation, and other materials, is protected by intellectual property laws.
Subject to compliance with these Terms, the user receives a personal, limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App for personal purposes.
The user may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, rent, sublicense, reverse engineer, or create derivative works from the App except where expressly allowed by law or by Monadeo.
All rights not expressly granted to the user remain reserved by Monadeo or its licensors.
12. Third-Party Services
Monadeo may rely on third-party services such as Apple, App Store services, iCloud/CloudKit, Firebase, Google Cloud, RevenueCat, analytics providers, crash reporting providers, support providers, email providers, hosting providers, and infrastructure providers.
Third-party services may have their own terms, privacy policies, limitations, security practices, outages, account requirements, and eligibility rules. Monadeo is not responsible for third-party services outside its control.
The user must comply with any applicable third-party terms, including Apple App Store terms and platform rules.
13. Privacy and Data Protection
Monadeo’s privacy practices are described in the Privacy Policy.
The Privacy Policy explains what data remains on the user’s device, what may be synchronized through Apple iCloud, what limited operational data may be processed by Monadeo or its providers, and what rights and controls users may have.
If there is a conflict between these Terms and the Privacy Policy regarding personal data processing, the Privacy Policy prevails for privacy and data protection matters.
14. Service Availability and Updates
Monadeo is provided on an “as available” basis. Monadeo aims to provide a reliable App but does not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, or permanently available service.
The App may be affected by maintenance, updates, bugs, device limitations, operating system changes, network issues, App Store changes, iCloud issues, Firebase or Google Cloud issues, RevenueCat issues, third-party outages, or other events outside Monadeo’s control.
Monadeo may release updates to improve, modify, fix, secure, or remove features. Some updates may be required for continued use of the App or certain services.
Support, where offered, is provided on a reasonable-efforts basis unless expressly stated otherwise.
15. Suspension and Termination
The user may stop using the App at any time. Where account deletion features are available, the user may request or initiate account deletion through the App or support channel.
Monadeo may suspend, restrict, or terminate access to the App or account-based features where necessary to enforce these Terms, protect security, prevent fraud or abuse, comply with law, handle non-payment, address technical risks, or protect Monadeo’s rights.
Termination or account deletion does not necessarily cancel App Store subscriptions. The user must cancel subscriptions through the relevant App Store or iOS subscriptions settings.
Termination or account deletion does not necessarily delete local data on the user’s device, data in the user’s Apple iCloud environment, App Store records, third-party provider records, or legal records that Monadeo is required or permitted to retain.
16. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Monadeo is provided without warranties that it will meet every user need, be uninterrupted, be error-free, be compatible with every device or configuration, or produce complete or accurate financial outputs.
Monadeo does not guarantee the accuracy of data entered by the user, imported by the user, generated from incomplete records, affected by sync issues, or modified by the user.
Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties, guarantees, or rights that cannot be excluded under applicable consumer law.
17. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Monadeo is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, or economic losses, including losses resulting from inaccurate data, incorrect categorization, missed reminders, sync issues, device loss, loss of local data, or decisions made based on information displayed in the App, except where liability cannot legally be excluded.
Monadeo is not responsible for losses caused by user error, inaccurate data entry, deleted local data, device loss, compromised devices, Apple ID or iCloud issues, App Store billing issues, third-party outages, unsupported devices, failure to update the App, or use of the App contrary to these Terms.
Where liability cannot be excluded, Monadeo’s liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.
18. Indemnity
Where permitted by law, the user agrees to indemnify and hold Monadeo harmless from claims, losses, damages, liabilities, costs, or expenses arising from the user’s unlawful use of the App, breach of these Terms, violation of third-party rights, misuse of support or communication channels, or data submitted by the user.
19. Changes to the App or Terms
Monadeo may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to the App, subscriptions, providers, technical infrastructure, legal requirements, security practices, or business needs.
The updated Terms will apply from their effective date, unless otherwise stated.
Where required, Monadeo may notify users through the App, website, App Store update notes, email where permitted, or other appropriate means. Monadeo may request acknowledgment or acceptance where legally or contractually necessary.
If the user does not agree with updated Terms, the user must stop using the App and cancel any subscription through the relevant platform if they no longer want paid access.
20. Electronic Communications
The user agrees that Monadeo may provide notices, legal documents, support replies, subscription information, privacy communications, security notices, and service messages electronically, including through the App, email, website, App Store pages, or other digital channels.
Electronic records, timestamps, logs, acceptance screens, account records, and confirmation events may be used as evidence of communications, acceptance, and actions where permitted by law.
21. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by French law, unless mandatory consumer protection rules provide otherwise.
Before starting formal proceedings, users are encouraged to contact Monadeo so that the issue can be reviewed and, where possible, resolved amicably.
For users located in the European Union, nothing in these Terms limits any mandatory consumer rights, local jurisdiction rights, or access to consumer alternative dispute resolution mechanisms that may be available under applicable EU or Member State law.
Where required by applicable law, users may also have access to consumer mediation, out-of-court dispute resolution, local courts, supervisory authorities, or other mandatory consumer remedies.
Subject to mandatory consumer jurisdiction rules, disputes relating to these Terms may be brought before the competent French courts. If the user acts as a consumer, the user may also benefit from the mandatory jurisdiction rules available under applicable consumer protection law.
22. App Store Terms
Where the App is downloaded through the Apple App Store, Apple’s terms and platform rules also apply.
Apple is not responsible for providing support for Monadeo, except where required by Apple’s own rules or applicable law. Subscription cancellation, billing, refunds, and payment methods are managed through Apple’s systems.
If these Terms conflict with mandatory Apple App Store terms applicable to the user’s purchase or use of the App, the applicable Apple terms may prevail for the relevant platform matter.
23. Miscellaneous
If any provision of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect.
Failure by Monadeo to enforce a provision does not waive the right to enforce it at another time.
The user may not assign or transfer these Terms without Monadeo’s consent. Monadeo may assign or transfer these Terms where permitted by law, including in connection with a merger, acquisition, restructuring, or transfer of business.
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any additional terms expressly incorporated by reference, form the agreement between the user and Monadeo regarding use of the App.
